Strengthening AFARD Business wing for improved value chain governance and power relations within the oilseed value chains and with oilseed farmers in West Nile (Arua, Nebbi, Zombo, Yumbe and Moyo)
SNV-AFARD Producer Organizations agribusiness support to 78 Producer Organizations in the districts of Nebbi, Zombo, Arua, Moyo and Yumbe respectively where PDCC is facilitating Producer Organizations to up-grade to formal cooperatives, building capacity of AFARD-Business Wing staffs and leadership of Producer Organization Business Hubs in production and marketing of sesame and soya bean for local and international markets from March –December 2012.
SNV-Nebbi District Local Government School Garden Project
SNV School Garden Project in 13 primary schools in Jonam County of Nebbi district where PDCC is currently mobilizing school communities, linking them to input dealers, providing extension services and establishing demonstration sites for pupils, teachers and parents from March-December 2012.
Farmer Institutional Development (FID) and Higher Farmer Level Organizations components under NAADS program in Nebbi and Zombo district local governments from September 2011-June 2012.
PDCC has produced training manuals on FID, Smallholder agricultural marketing and Farm Business Development Support Services (FBDSS) and market institutions, trained Group Promoters and now giving technical backstopping in areas of marketing and institutional development. PDCC also supported Sub county farmer forum to form enterprise specific producer and marketing groups in 16 sub counties of Nebbi district from March-May 2012.
